SCHMID MUSIC BOXES (MUSICALS) Schmid made a wide variety of music boxes (musicals) but the most collectible are the licensed editions such as Beatrix Potter, Disney and the Peanuts Gang, Snoopy, Charlie Brown etc.  Schmid discontinued business in 1995. These music boxes depict the Beatrix Potter storybook figurines based on the characters in the children's stories written by Beatrix Potter and produced by Schmid under license from F. Warne & Co. Ltd. There are many back-stamps for Schmid musicals, the music box part produced in various countries, such as Japan, Korea, Taiwan and Malaysia. Beatrix Potter Figurines By Beswick and Royal Albert Beatrix Potter collectible figurines by Beswick and Royal Albert illustrate the storybook characters made famous by the writings of Beatrix Potter such as Peter rabit with his bonny blue coat. They were produced under license from F. Warne & Co. Ltd. Beswick England. The older Beatrix Potter figurines  were made by Beswick from 1948 to 1989 when the Royal Albert backstamp was  introduced. In 1998 Royal Doulton discontinued the Royal Albert backstamp on Beatrix Potter figurines and reverted back to the Beswick name for figurines made from 1998 to 2002 when Royal Doulton discontinued making all Beatrix Potter figurines In 1989  Royal Doulton discontinued the Beswick backstamp on Beatrix Potter figurines and used the Royal Albert backstamp from 1989 to 1998.
